ThedaCare’s School of Radiologic Technology, my first choice of a hospital-based program, offers students a concentration of courses and an array of learning opportunities. With a 100% pass rate in the past 50 years and a rank in the top ten in the nation for boards, I am honored to submit my application to the ThedaCare’s School of Radiologic Technology Program. From the school visit at University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, I was impressed with ThedaCare’s in-depth program explanation, notably the CT course, and the one-to-one ratio of learning during clinical rotations. My dedication to my education, work experience, and volunteer work would make me a great addition to ThedaCare’s School of Radiologic Technology. As a coll ege student, I declared my Radiologic Sciences major at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh my sophomore year after I shadowed at Aurora BayCare Medical Center Radiology Department in Green Bay. The four-hour shadow offered me a first-hand look into a Radiologic Technologists typical day-to-day responsibilities. I know Radiologic Technology is my career choice and I will be a dedicated and compassionate technician. While I was taking classes throughout high school, at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and the at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, I have had multiple jobs that have helped me to continue grow as a person. For four summers, I was a nanny to children with ages ranging from one to nine years of age. The experience taught me the importance of the quality level of care needed to fulfill the needs of the children in my care. Ensuring a safe and clean environment, preparing and giving meals, administering medicine, driving children to and from activities, teaching good manners, bathing and dressing children, and maintaining specific schedules were some of my responsibilities. These valuable skills will help me with Radiologic Technology career.
